The Business School has successfully organized a summer overseas study program at the University College Cork in Ireland

In order to accelerate the internationalization process of the Business School and improve students' cross-cultural understanding and communication skills, with the strong support of the Internationnal Office and the Business School selected students to participate in the Summer Future Business Vision Program of  University College Cork in Ireland from August 5 to August 19,2023. The "Future Business Vision" Summer School Research Program is jointly organized by the Language Centre of Cork, the International Office and the Official Representative Office of the University College Cork in Ireland. It is the official summer program of the University College Cork. This exchange project is the first exchange group from Beijing Technology and Business University to The University College Cork in Ireland after the epidemic. The Business School selected 12 undergraduate and graduate students to participate.


The summer study schedule is closely arranged, including academic courses, cutting-edge theme lectures, and colorful cultural experience activities. During the two-week summer program, the students participated in the professional courses of business English and actively interacted with students from different countries, which greatly improved their English expression and writing skills. In addition, the University College Cork has also arranged a series of keynote lectures to organize students to visit the Ignite Business Incubator program, so that students can have a deeper understanding of the University College Cork's interdisciplinary research and student entrepreneurial support initiatives. In addition to the course, the summer program also arranged a series of cultural experience activities, so that students can deeply experience the local Irish culture, and participate in the activities together with international students, to enhance cultural exchanges.

 


At the end of the project, students showed their project learning results and business plans in groups, which was highly praised by the teachers of the University College Cork, and successfully obtained the certificate of completion.

 


This summer program is a two-way communication, business is one of the advantages of cork university, summer activities provide students with high quality and the latest business information, after two weeks of learning experience, the students' vision constantly develop, improve English ability, for the future development plan also gradually clear. Sun Xiaoran, a teacher from the Business School, communicated with the delegation, and met with the head of the International Exchange Office of the University College Cork and the international program teachers of the Business School. She had a comprehensive understanding of the international student education system and management system of the University College Cork, and had an in-depth discussion on the issue of student training. Through the communication with local teachers and students, they also have a better understanding of Chinese culture, and promote the cultural exchange and academic interconnection between China and Ireland.
