Financial Management

Overview

This program aims to cultivate high-level application-oriented professionals who exhibit comprehensive development in ethics, intellect, and physical fitness, possessing high management competence, a well-rounded knowledge structure, innovative spirit, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The program’s features and advantages include a robust theoretical and academic foundation, a competitive faculty team, close practical relevance, flexible training methods, comprehensive library resources, research databases, and an extensive alumni network. Over the past three years, faculty members in the Financial Management program have achieved significant results in teaching and research, including leading key national social science projects and major provincial and ministerial-level research projects, and publishing multiple papers in top-tier journals. The program duration is 3 years, with a maximum allowed study period of 5 years.

Educational Objectives

Graduates will master solid foundational theories and systematic specialized knowledge in the field. They will be capable of independently engaging in financial management and related business management, as well as undertaking specialized technical tasks in financial management and related fields. Graduates will possess high comprehensive quality, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit. They will be informed about the latest developments in the field both domestically and internationally, and will have a solid knowledge base and capacity for continuous learning and improvement. They will be proficient in a foreign language, capable of reading and understanding professional foreign literature, engaging in external communication, and writing professional papers and materials in that language.

Research Directions

1. Corporate Finance and Group Management

Corporate finance and group management focus on studying the relationships between organizational structure, behavior, and performance from a financial perspective, as well as various management and control systems implemented by group companies. Areas include: organizational strategy, capital markets and investment decisions, equity structure and corporate governance, financial risk management, performance evaluation, and incentive plans.

2. Management Accounting and Value Chain Management

Management accounting and value chain management involve cost management and management control activities based on organizational performance, and the study of value creation within organizations. Key areas include: budget management, strategic cost management, financial control systems, strategic performance evaluation, and value chain management and control.

Faculty Team

The program has 23 faculty members, including 8 professors, 10 associate professors, and 5 lecturers. Among them, 19 hold doctoral degrees from prestigious universities such as The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, and Nankai University. Additionally, 15 faculty members have experience studying or working abroad.
